River Horse Studio

Much of my creative energy goes into supporting my new venture River Horse Writing Studio on Whidbey Island. I am still making progress on my memoir Armed With Poetry but River Horse has ignited passion that at times feels like it will burn me up. I lay awake at night wondering what to make of the space I have come into? and how much of me does it need to survive? I take it week by week. I have made meaningful connections with other writers and love learning the craft of being a shopkeeper. This learning is all taking place under the umbrella of a small but dedicated group of people living together in what is called Langley Village. It is a cooperative community of residents and businesses that have made a life for themselves and provide many levels of quite nourishment for neighbors and visitors alike. Since I have been primarily living in Seattle and commuting to Whidbey Island I have not been able to play a significant role in the little village but I am grateful to be included. Working on Whidbey Island has not been what I had hoped, but I am learning to make it what it needs to be. What is that? you may ask, it needs to be a place of refuge and inspiration, and as long as there are good books to be read and creative daydreaming to be had River Horse will have a purpose. Reach out if you are called to visit. angie@waterhorsewriting.com
